How to get a Travel Visa

Every foreign visitor must obtain a Visa to enter into Nepal.  (Some south Asian countries may have agreements with Nepal where no visa is necessary. Please visit your local Nepalese consulate for specific information.)

Options to Obtain a Nepalese Travel Visa

  1. In advance of your trip to Nepal, call or visit your local Nepalese consulate in your home country. Complete the appropriate paperwork, pay the fee, provide the necessary identification (your valid passport) and apply for the visa. (All U.S. residents please visit  www.nepalembassyusa.org/visa.php or visit your local Nepalese Consulate website or office for specific visa information.)

 

  1. Bring $30.00 (U.S. dollars) in cash to pay the visa travel fee along with your valid passport, and two identical passport sized photos of yourself so you may present to the Nepal customs officer at the airport upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport  (the Kathmandu international airport) in Nepal.  Please contact Sherpa Mountain Travel in advance of your trip if you have any questions.

How to get to Nepal

There are multiple international airlines which fly into Tribhuvan International Airport (the Kathmandu airport).

Suggested Airlines:

  • Thai International Airlines
  • Singapore Airlines
  • Air China
  • Air India
  • Cathy Pacific
