Karma Sherpa:  C.E.O. & Trek Leader
Karma Sherpa
grew up in the Mt. Everest region in Nepal called Teksindu. Karma Sherpa has guided treks and expeditions since 1995 through numerous reputable companies.  Karma’s 15 years experience has given him a solid understanding of the guiding, restaurant, hospitality, and trekking industries. 

Karma will ensure that your treks, meals, and lodging are as enjoyable as possible. Karma Sherpa has lived in the U.S. for many years, so he is fluent in the English, Sherpa, and Nepalese languages. He has worked for Colorado’s Outward Bound course in Nepal. He speaks fluent English and understands both eastern and western cultures – a trait not matched by other company guides.  Karma worked in the restaurant industry he knows how to cook traditional Sherpa meals in ways that make them delicious for all palates!  He creates healthy delicious meals daily for all to enjoy!

Karma ensures each trip gives you an opportunity to see local living and customs. Karma enjoys teaching others about local Sherpa and Tibetan history, culture, as well as effective outdoor skills so that they can truly enjoy nature’s beauty.  Karma is a friendly, skilled, and attentive guide who will ensure your trip is a wonderful once in a lifetime experience!

Phurwa Sherpa:  Trek Leader

Phurwa Sherpa grew up in the Mt. Everest region in Nepal called Teksindu with his brother Karma. Phurwa Sherpa has guided treks and expeditions for thirty years through numerous reputable companies. He has a solid understanding of and experience in the guiding and trekking industries. He has worked for Colorado’s Outward Bound as an instructor. Phurwa Sherpa speaks fluent English and understands both eastern and western cultures.  Phurwa enjoys teaching others about local history, culture, and effective outdoor skills so that they can truly enjoy nature’s beauty. Phurwa is a friendly, skilled, and attentive leader who will ensure you get the most out of your journey in Nepal!

 

Dan Jenkins:  Travel Advisor

Dan Jenkins began his adventure career at age 7 camping out in his backyard in the suburbs of Baltimore, Maryland.  From that intrepid start, he honed his skills as technical adventurer in the realms of rock climbing, mountaineering, canyoneering, river running and backcountry skiing in 49 states and 12 countries.  In fact, he has summited the highest point on 4 of the world’s 7 continents!

Dan also is a talented facilitator working with groups from such diverse backgrounds as: Vietnam Veterans, International Accounts Managers from American Express, inner city youth, hemophiliacs, The Colorado Rockies, Wharton Business School students and brain injured adults.  As an International Mountaineering Guide, Dan has safely helped clients ascend summits on 5 continents, and as a conscientious educator has helped people reach above self-imposed limitations and fears on challenge and ropes courses.  His energy and enthusiasm are infectious.  Dan lives by the motto “You’re here for a good time, not a long time.” He is a very experienced guide and trekker. Sherpa Mountain Travel is proud to have him as part of our team.

 

Pasang Sherpa:  Trekking Guide

Pasang Sherpa was born in Chulemu village of Mt Everest region. He worked for many years in tourism industry as assistant guide. He brings with him expansive experience and willingness to assist the visitors with professionalism and dedicated service. He has genuine interest to visiting different places, trekking & mountaineering. His specialization is in trekking and has in–depth knowledge about the culture and history of Nepal. Having travelled almost all parts of Nepal, he has acquired boundless information about inner Nepal. His friendliness and hospitability definitely make your visit to Nepal a memorable one.


Ang Babu Sherpa: Trekking Guide

 Ang Babu Sherpa is a local resident in the Everest region.  He began guiding in 1991. He has gained extensive knowledge working the last 19 years in the guiding field.  He is fluent in English, Sherpa, and Nepalese. His vast experience allows to us to provide our clients with the best service and trip safety in Nepal. He is very familiar with the region, local peoples, and loves to tell stories about each place visited. Ang Babu will make sure trip is more than tourism, making it an unforgettable once in the lifetime adventure. Ang Babu is well loved for his attentiveness, encouragement, and great smile.

Dawa Sherpa:  Technical Climbing Guide  Dawa Sherpa was born in the village of Taksindu, region of Mt. Everest. He is the brother of late Babu Chiri Sherpa, who established two world records with Dawa Sherpa’s help, staying 21 hours on top of Everest and completed the fastest ascent of Mt. Everest. Dawa began mountaineering at very young age and has extensive experience in the field of mountaineering. During 14 years, he summited many different mountains in the Himalaya.
